Review of The Cajun Experience - Swamp & Plantation Combo Tour From New Orleans

The best thing about booking this activity with TripShock was that it included transportation to and from the activity and all at a price less than a single plantation tour would be! The pickup was on time and the ride to the swamp was about 40 minutes. I had been on one other swamp tour and this one was better. Our guide Captain Danny was entertaining and had all the Southern Charm! There were so many alligators to be seen and we got to hold one. Following the swamp tour was a short ride to the plantation. There was the choice of two; either Laura or Oak Alley. We chose Oak Alley and given the choice to do it again I would go to Laura. Oak Alley was a bit disappointing. The grounds are stunning, but the Plantation house itself was a little dull and no pictures were allowed. You also did not get to see the full home. Despite this, the plantation had drinks available and a great gift shop with a Praline liqueur sundae that was to die for!

    Swamp/great...plantation/ not good

The swamp tour: Bishop our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable. The plantation tour was too crowded we had to wait multiple times due to too many people in the house which left no time to tour grounds or take pics of the beautiful trees before we had to get back on the bus.

    Swamp and Laura tour

This experience was great. We went to the swamp first and saw lots of gators, and even got to hold a baby one! The captain was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and funny. The only thing is we got stuck in the middle of the boat so it was hard to see sometimes, but the captain would take his time so you could get up and move around if you needed a better view. Rose was our guide for the Laura Plantation and once again she didn’t disappoint. The was passionate about the story behind this plantation and it made the experience that much better. We wish we had more time to explore this plantation. Transportation to and from the locations was good as well.
