    Extremely unhappy

I gave it a one because when we got there it had started raining shortly afterwards and the tickets were nonrefundable nor transferable to another day so I basically wasted the money for the main attraction which was the zoo I wish they would’ve gave me a rain check for another day I did drive almost 300 miles to get there just very happy with it

    Unpleasant Experience

The zoo was fine but we had no idea when we bought the combo tickets that the activities were all in separate areas miles apart. That should have been mentioned. We let the zoo to go to the aquarium and there was no handicap parking and also no wheelchairs even though the web site said there were. So my husband and I sat in our car while my kids went in. I wasn't at all happy about that because my kids had travelled from Nebraska to be with us together. On top of that we didn't even get to the butterfly house that we also paid for. I have been to many zoo's and aquariums and they have all been in one area!!! We spent $200 to do all 3 and one my husband and I where only about to do one do to the false information about have handicap parking and wheelchairs at the aquarium. I will never go... read more

    Micheal, ...

Micheal, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The listing for the combo package as well as your emailed and texted vouchers DO have the locations of the zoo, aquarium, insectarium & butterfly garden. The operating hours for each ones are also listed. There is information saying that each location is handicap friendly but no mention of wheelchairs being available for use. The actual Audubon website does say that wheelchairs are available on a first come, first serve basis to use. There are paid parking lots around the Aquarium and Butterly Garden with handicap spots. The Zoo has it's own parking lot that is free to park in with dozens of handicap parking spots. We're sorry you missed this information when you booked this tickets yourself online and you were unable to enjoy full use of your tickets. We are also sorry there were no wheelchairs available when you arrived. You do have 30 days to visit each location and use your combo tickets. We do hope you'll return and check out. Thank you again for your feedback. TripShock! Director of Sales

    The absolute worst!!!!

I purchased a ticket to include everything. I found the Butterfly Garden to be okay and I suppose the Aquarium was acceptable but the Zoo was the absolute worst experience I think I have ever encountered. Not only were the animals not out because it was "too hot" according to staff, I was denied access to the train and the waterpark unless I paid even more money FOR EACH. The staff was extremely rude and hateful. In the back of the park I attempted to order food and a drink and was told that they were closing in about 30 minutes but I could go back to the front of the park for something to drink because the park didn't close for another couple of hours - this was at TWO locations mind you. The only animals I was able to see were some wild raccoons, the alligator and snakes etc. in the... read more

Thank you for your feedback and we apologize for any inconvenience during your visit to Audubon Zoo. The welfare of the animals in our care is a top priority and we are disappointed to read about your perception of the Zoo.We usually recommend Zoo visits in the morning, especially in the summer when the temperatures soar. On hot days we observe an Open House policy for our animals to choose whether they prefer their dens or the exhibit. We have passed on your comments about our concessions operations to that department. We hope you choose to visit us again and choose the times based on our chats and feeds posted in the Zoo Scoop on our website. Thank you.
