Laura Plantation: A Creole Heritage Site is focused on the generations of a real Louisiana Creole family, both free and enslaved. Tour the plantation home, the gardens, slave cabins, and the museum, and read detailed biographies of those who were enslaved. Visit this historic sugar farmstead and experience what has been called, “the best history tour in the U.S.”

  • Due to the historic nature of the plantation, access to the second floor is by stairs only.
  • Self-guided tours are prohibited.

Additional information

  • Laura Plantation is open 7 days a week, from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm.
  • The guided tour of the main house, gardens and slave quarters lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
  • Photos and videos are allowed inside the house on this tour.
  • Tours are provided on a first come first serve basis. No times are required to be selected upon booking.
  • The ticket office opens at 9:30 AM and tours begin at 10 AM, running every 40 minutes throughout the day until the last tour departs at 4 PM.
  • Free parking available on-site.
  • A moderate amount of walking is required to complete this tour.
  • Although not required, it is appreciated and encouraged to tip your tour guide.
  • Children 5 & under are free of charge.
  • Rates are per person and include all taxes. Rates do not include gratuity to guides.
  • On July 4 & Dec 24, the last tour is at 12 Noon.
  • No tours on Mardi Gras day.

Cancellation policy

No refunds will be given on the voucher unless plantation is closed. If the plantation is closed for weather, please call us at 850-424-5125 to make other arrangements. Transportation is not provided for this tour so please be sure you have transportation before booking. Online tickets are non-refundable, however, tickets are valid up to 30 days from the purchase date should your plans change. If for some reason you need to change the date you booked for please call us at 850-424-5125 for a ticket transfer date.

    Great a most see

    We had a great time, our tour guide was great and really knew her stuff. Lindle I believe was her name she was awesome and very passionate about the history there and in Louisiana. I had several teenagers with me that did not even want to go but by the end they were happy they did.
