Review of Deep Sea Fishing Party Boat in Destin

Too many people on the boat. Tangled a lot after carefully following the directions of the crew. Was not thrilled with my total catch. I like the snapper rules of the boat, ie, boat limit and not per person limit unless all fishing persons catch their two snappers.

Thanks for booking with us and for sharing your experience! Red snapper season definitely is a favorite for anglers, so we do see the party boats at full capacity. I assure you, however, that the number of people on board is actually below the boat's limit. While the crew definitely works hard to make sure lines are untangled, sometimes the conditions just make them work a bit harder to ensure everyone has a good time. Next time you might want to consider a private charter OR the same company offers a semi-private trip which limits the number of people to 15 so there is a lot more elbow room. I hope that you enjoyed your visit and that we see you next time! TripShock! Guest Service Manager

Worst fishing boat I've been on

I've been going on fishing/drift boats since I was 15. This was the absolute worst experience. It is like they went to the roughest waters intentionally. I saw other boats closer to the coast where the waters were calmer. There were people on the boat who were scared about about 10 people who were sick. We spent a total of 30-40 minutes fishing. Most stops we got 4-6 minutes in and lines up time to go. The last stop we were able to go a little longer as there were not dolphins steeling the fish. The dolphins of course were not the fault of the captain. I have been in rough seas on fishing boats as well, but the way this one was navigated was concerning. There were a couple of times I thought I was going to end up over the rail.

    Captain Jack A$$

Good luck... hopefully you won’t experience the captains superstitions and be threatened off the boat.

    Didn’t catch a thing

Too much riding and not enough time to fish, and the dolphins kept eating what you did catch , I’m never going back on a party boat

    Want return

This was the worse fishing trip that we have every taken. The captain was very rube! He talk to the guest awful. Almost turn the boat on it's side. I have used this same outfit for years. I will never return to them again. We always catch a lot of fish this captain did not know where to take us fishing. It was a waste of time and money. Wished we would had used someone else.

They should of cancelled the trip

To start off it was a red flag day, so it was rough to say the least. About 8-9 people were vomiting on the boat. On lady flew up off her seat and came down hard on the railing. She hurt her arms bad. Another guy was using the restroom and ended up head butting the wall because of how rough it was. Hardly anyone caught fish. It was a horrible experience for a lot of people. We tried to complain to the company, and the lady didn’t seem to care about our complaints. If you schedule a deep sea fishing tour- do it with another company!

    Bad trip

Boat wasn’t as advertised. Interior area may be temp controlled but they leave the doors open all trip anyway. Our group had so many people that it was very difficult to get to the bathrooms or walk around the boat. Fishing was so tight there were many tangles of lines. The rods used seemed so stiff it was hard to feel the bite. Most people that caught fish were just reeling up to see if they still had bait and there happened to be a fish on the hook. Most fish were too small to keep. Crew was OK. Captain was a grumpy old man and mainly everything he said was along the lines of how stupid the passengers were and not to do anything stupid. Boat we were on was the Gulf Breeze. Olin Marler charters has other boats so maybe the others are better.

    Worst trip ever

The seas were to high, never should have gone out. Couldn’t stay on a spot and many people got sick. 8 hour trip with approximately 30 people on board and there was only one keeper red snapper.

Will take boat out in unfavorable conditions

This trip is NOT for beginners. When I read the reviews it sounded like it would be a fun family fishing trip. The crew were very unfriendly and seemed bothered when asked for assistance. The swells were so bad that you could hardly stand yet fish. I caught a small fish that I could have caught over a bridge and we were an hour out. At one point there were about 1/3 of the passengers that were sick because of the rocky boat. When asked if these were very favorable conditions the captain replied that they couldn’t go out the past 2 days so they had to go out today. I am saddened that they felt like moey was more important than our safety or our experience.
