Types of Fishing

Bottom Fishing: The most common way of fishing techniques, used to catch fish that are found near the sea floor.

Light Tackle Fishing: A method of fishing where the angler uses a flexible rod to cast live bait or a lure. Typically used inshore or on lakes where the water is shallow.

Check the ticket descriptions to see what type of fish you are likely to catch on each trip.

    Great guide

Fishing was tough due to cold front and wind, but our guide was persistent and found a couple of good spots and we caught fish. Guiding is easy when everything is biting, but when they’re not good guides are important. We caught our dinner!

    Nice but unprepared..

Multiple issues, 1st we should have never been on an offshore trip. The boat, tackle, and captain were setup for inshore fishing. The time frame was set for the afternoon, luckily I was able to speak to Captain Chris a couple days before the trip for him to tell me that he had us down for a morning tour. ... read more

Brock thank you for your review. I would like to clear up some of the confusion. The weather was forecasted to have bad thunderstorms and waves in the afternoon, it was recommended to change to the morning time. We mentioned if that time did not work for you we could refund you 100% and you decided to go anyways. Offshore fishing dead bait or cut bait is always provided free of charge since that is what we were catching most of the fish on this time of year. We mentioned that live cigar minnows may be helpful for king mackerel if you like, and gave you the option to catch them on the way out to the fishing grounds or you have the option to buy some if the live bait boat had some for sale. The wind was too strong for the trolling motor. As stated on the website, the boat is a hybrid...

As stated on the website, the boat is a hybrid boat made for gulf and bay fishing. When fishing live bait we use larger hooks for small cut bait we use smaller hooks. In gulf waters you legally have to fish with circle hooks and you were instructed to not set the hook instead let the fish take it and simply reel, im sorry it took your group a little bit of learning to get the hang of this technique. It was good to see your group learned quick enough to put some decent fish in the boat. When you catch as many fish as we did that day there’s always a chance of getting some fish blood on you. It is never recommended to wear nice dinner clothes offshore fishing.

Thanks for booking with us and sharing your experience about your recent fishing trip. We had one of those rare windy summer days that made the fishing challenging. We did manange to catch a rare keeper bay snapper which was cleaned and packaged for you to take home. Hope it provided a tasty dinner!
