A fast-paced day of Alligators and Plantations

The best thing about booking this activity with TripShock was that it included transportation to and from the activity and all at a price less than a single plantation tour would be! The pickup was on time and the ride to the swamp was about 40 minutes. I had been on one other swamp tour and this one was better. Our guide Captain Danny was entertaining and had all the Southern Charm! There were so many alligators to be seen and we got to hold one. Following the swamp tour was a short ride to the plantation. There was the choice of two; either Laura or Oak Alley. We chose Oak Alley and given the choice to do it again I would go to Laura. Oak Alley was a bit disappointing. The grounds are stunning, but the Plantation house itself was a little dull and no pictures were allowed. You also did... read more

    Swamp Tour

The trips is a must. But warning, the organization of bus pick up and drop off is a mess. First off we got picked up from our hotel. We boarded the wrong bus even after my wife asked if we were in the list. We almost missed our bus because they had to drop us off back at our hotel. After finally boarding the right bus we made it to the swamp. From French Quater to Swamp its about an hour. The swamp tour was amazing. Lots of gators. Small to medium size. Only saw one big gator. Lots of other animals. Our tour guide was hilarious and the swamp tour was well organized. However after the swamp tour you have to board another bus to get the the Plantation of your choice. Same mess. 3 bus drivers for the same tour all telling us different buses to board. We were told we were on one bus and then... read more

Swamp Tour Excellent But Plantation tour to short on time

The swamp tour was excellent very knowledgable guide but was not informed to bring lunch. Was told there would be a time and a café at plantation to eat. But we got there and only have 1 hour to tour plantation and ground before bus left. Need more time for this tour. so overall for both tours I would rate the combination a Good not Excellent.

    Overall, a good trip

Caveat: the "all day" trip isn't really. You get picked up from hotel 10-10:30 and travel out to the swamp; there you want till 12 N when the swamp tour starts. Then you travel to the plantations and your tour starts around 2 and you leave at 4:30 getting you back to NOLA around 6. You spend a lot of time in a bus; in spite of this we liked the experience. ... read more

    Wonderful Value

This was well worth the money spent. The friendly bus driver picked us up from our hotel promptly when we were told he would, and delivered us safely to our destination, and then back to the hotel. Loved not having to worry about transportation in addition to activity. Swamp tour was great and educational. We picked Oak Alley Plantation which was absolutely breathtaking. My only complaint of the entire experience is that the Oak Alley tour was a bit over crowded to be as enjoyable, and very short. Would have loved to have seen more of the inside of the house. Had plenty of time after to explore the outside grounds, which was beautiful. Would definitely book with them again!

    Very enjoyable and interesting tours

The bus ride out was very interesting. The driver shared little tidbits all along the way and it made the ride enjoyable. The swamp tour was interesting. We saw a lot of alligators, raccoons and turtles. The guide was interesting and funny. He had great stories. Enjoyed the tour very much. The plantation tour was fascinating. Our tour guide kept it very interesting. Lots of interesting details. Our ride back was not as enjoyable but part of the reason was due to traffic. The driver was not as informative but he got us back safely even though he had to take a less traveled route. The tour took the entire day (as the site advised) and it is a lot of riding in a tour bus but it was worth it.

    Cool Experience

It was a cool trip and very knowledgeable and our guide for the Swamp Tour was awesome his name was Capt. Allen!!! The plantation was beautiful we did the Oak Valley. My only complaint is that in the Swamp Tour we only saw 1 big gator most of the ones we saw were just babies. All in all though I would recommend it to someone.

    Our Cajun Pride Experience

Excellent day with Cajun Pride. From the swamp to the remarkable path of Oak Alley, the day was very enjoyable. My only suggestion, and why I only gave it a 4, is to allow time for a lunch break or include one in the day. It would have been awesome to experience an authentic meal away from the city. Captain Danny was AWESOME!!!!
